Affiliation of nine colleges to be withdrawn

The Odisha government has decided to withdraw the affiliation accorded earlier to nine colleges following their dismal show in the annual Plus Two examinations results in current year.

According to Gagan Dhal, secretary, Higher Education, the nine private colleges that had zero results are Gunupur College, Trupti Women’s College, Basudevpur, Govt Junior Science College Jirang, Swami Vivekananda Residential College, Rayagada, Govt Junior Science College, Tiring, Jayakrushna College, Tamando, Cosmic Plus Two Science College, Puri, Centurian Plus Two Science College, Ramachandrapur and Pratik Science College, Sambalpur.

It may be mentioned here that the Higher Education minister Pradip Kumar Panigrahi, in a press briefing here yesterday had said that his department would issue a show cause notice to the authorities of these nine college to explain the cause behind such dismal results.

“If the explanations are not found satisfactory, the government would withdraw affiliation from these colleges”, he had warned.
