While the BJP is already struggling with factionalism which is likely to reflect on the poll prospects, the BJD has raked up the case of false caste certificate much to its chagrin.
The case involves former BJP chairman of Sambalpur Municipality Girish Patel.
In a release, the BJD has questioned the delay in initiating action against Girish Patel even after an order was issued by the Municipal Director.
Reminding people about the fake certificate submitted by Patel by which he held the chairman post reserved for OBCs for five years, the release said it was issued to Patel on the recommendation of Sambalpur BJP MLA Jayanarayan Mishra.
Demanding criminal proceedings against Mishra and Patel, the release has urged the executive officer to immediately initiate action against Patel and threatened to launch an agitation.
